Garage Door Safety
Garage doors are large and heavy with springs that are under considerable tension. Without proper maintenance and safety precautions, they can cause serious injuries.
Please take a few minutes to visit http://www.garagedoorcare.com/. The International Door Association maintains this attractive website to provide maintenance and safety information for proper garage door operation.
Does your door have Safety Photo Eyes? These are the small black boxes at the bottom of the door on each side. If not, your door will not automatically reverse if something or someone is in its path. Consider replacing your garage door operator with a new, safer model. Call us for a quote..
Garage Door Maintenance
Use silicone grease or WD40 to lubricate the moving parts of your door – such as hinges, and roller stems. You can also lubricate the overhead track. However, if you have a screw drive garage door opener, you must use special low-temp lithium grease on the track. You can also spray the springs with WD40. However, DO NOT, under any circumstances try to adjust or remove the springs.
